Membership of AMSPAR is available in three options. Certified, General or Affiliate. The information below will help you decide which is applicable to you. Membership is effective between 1st April to 31st March each year.
General membership is available to anyone working in a health organisation and the level is based on the number of years experience. Members are permitted to use the post-nominal only.
Certifed membership is available to anyone who holds an AMSPAR approved qualification and the higher level (Fellow) is based on 5 years post qualification experience. Members are permitted to use the post-nominal and are entitled to use the accompanying official certified designation.
Certified membership by APL - Any general member who has a minimum of 2 years paid general membership subscription may apply for certified status by approval. New members without AMSPAR qualifications may apply for certified status providing that they have an equivalent level of qualification and it is by approval.
Faculty membership - All Certified members will receive automatic membership to either the Institute of Primary Care or the Institute of Secondary Care and will be allowed to use the appropriate post nominal.
Affiliate membership is available to anyone who aspires to work in health administration, including umemployed or working iin any other administration role.
New members pay a joining fee, but all existing members can recieve an early renewal discount
